In January-July 2007, Ukraine’s marine transshipment totaled 92.561 million tonnes (+16%, year-on-year), the country’s state statistics committee reports according to RZD-Partner. 11 million tonnes of the extra volume (12.8 million tonnes) falls on transit.
The increase should be mainly attributed to a 36.9-percent growth of transit to 41.37 million tonnes. Volume of export transshipment fell by 3% to 38.58 million tonnes. Import grew by 19% to 9.36 million tonnes.
