A special center of development and production of deep-sea machinery will be built in Vladivostok in 2008, vladivostoktimes.com reports.
According to "Konkurent (Competitor)" newspaper, it was declared by the Chairman of the RAS Far Eastern Branch Presidium Valentin Sergienko.
The Center is being built in Vladivostok suburb. The whole cycle of works will be executed here: from the development of deep-sea machinery models to its trial in conditions of the open sea.
According to Valentin Sergienko, the Center will be capable of producing up to 30 robotic complexes a year. They will be automated robots for the work at a big depth. Their development is conducted by specialists of the Institute of marine technology problems of the RAS Far Eastern Branch.
