Rotterdam acquires a new rail terminal

The Port of Rotterdam has acquired a new rail terminal. The Swiss company Bertschi yesterday opened a 3.5-hectare complex in the Brittaniëhaven dock in the Botlek area.
This provides the port with rail connections to southern Germany and Italy, and later also Eastern Europe.
Bertschi is considered to be a market leader in the transportation of chemicals by rail. The terminal in Rotterdam has a maximum processing capacity of 120,000 containers. Four shuttle trains will come and go daily.
