In January-June 2007, Commercial Seaport of Kherson (Ukraine) transshipped 1.651 million tonnes of cargo (51.2%, year-on-year), the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Transit grew 2.6 times to 298.6 thou tonnes, export – by 5.7% to 783.2 thou tonnes. The port’s administration attributes the growth to increased transshipment of loose and packaged cargo. In the first quarter it grew by 77.8% and by 31.9% respectively. In 2006, Commercial Seaport of Kherson increased its throughput by 4.9% to 2.849 million tones. Export grew by 10.6% to 1.62 million tonnes, transit – by 52.7% to 450.3 thou tonnes.
