In January-June, 2007, Commercial Seaport of Nikolayev increased its throughput by 13.8% - to 3.4 million tones, the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Transit grew 2-fold – to 1.54 million tones, export decreased by 12.3%. to 1.519 million tonnes. The port attributes the growth to increased transshipment of transit coal, chemicals and export rolled metal. In the first quarter, transshipment grew by 16.9% to 1.544 million tonnes.
In 2006, Commercial Seaport of Nikolayev increased its throughput by 14.8% to 6.381 million tones. Export grew by 27.3% to 3.072 million tones, transit – by 20% to 2.286 million tonnes.
