The new container handling facilities include a depth alongside of 12 metres (m) and a quay length of 380 m in Alexandria and 510 m in El Dekheila.
“HPH applauds the Egyptian government's commitment to develop the port of Alexandria into a world-class port facility to support the expanding industrial bases in the region,” said John Meredith, HPH group managing director.

The new container facilities at Alexandria had already commenced initial operations earlier this year in March while El Dekheila's facilities came on-line in June.
