In January-August 2007, the port of Temryuk handled 828,260 tonnes of cargo, PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo totaled 695,220 tonnes (-0.47%, year-on-year) including 196,708 tonnes of sawn timber, 39,798 tonnes of round timber, 193,014 tonnes of chemical cargo. Transshipment of grain cargo totaled 25,94 tonnes, fertilizers - 27,814 tonnes, non-ferrous metal – 98,697 tonnes, general cargo – 134,605 tonnes. In the reported period import made 133,040 tonnes (2.7-fold increase, year-on-year). In January-August 07 the port handled 395 vessels (+7.9%, year-on-year).
Commercial Seaport of Temryuk is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1,200 running meters. The port specializes mainly in transshipment of general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. Dredging works started in 1996 has been almost finalized for the moment being at the approach canal, and the port is able to accept river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5,000 tonnes in displacement.
