Loading of Northern Railway totals 51.5 million tonnes in Jan-Aug 07

In January-August 2007, Northern Railway (SZD) loaded 51.5 million tones, SZD’s PR Department reports. The company’s cargo turnover amounted to 101.191 billion tones per kilometer (+3.4%, year-on-year). Loading of oil products totaled 12.4 million tones, coal – almost 7 million tones, construction materials – 6.8 million tones, forest cargo - 7.8 million tonnes (+2.7% against plan), ferrous metal - 6.6 million tonnes (+12.4%, year-on-year, and +1.9% against plan), cement - 715 thou tonnes (+1.9%, year-on-year, and +1.9% against plan), chemicals - 772 thou tonnes (+15.2%, year-on-year, and +10% against plan), scrap metal - 941 thou tonnes (+4.2%, year-on-year, and +2.5% against plan).
