Russia to boost gas exports to Asia Pacific

Total exports of natural gas to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (APR) are likely to amount to 23-50bn cubic meters from 2020 onwards, with supplies of liquefied gas to amount to 21bn cubic meters in 2020 and as much as 28bn cubic meters by 2030, according to the data contained in the program for the development of a unified system of natural gas production, transportation and service in Eastern Siberia and the Far East with the potential to export gas to China and other APR countries. The program involves processing and sales of hydrocarbon materials and helium produced in Eastern Siberia, which will ensure refined oil product output of 4.5m tonnes per year and at least 9.1m tonnes of gas and chemical production per year by 2030. According to the program's estimates, investment of 1.3 trillion rubles (approx. USD50bn) investment is required for its implementation.
