In January-August of 2007, 2.646 mln tons of cargoes were handled in the port of Liepaja (-2.5% year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports.
The volume of handled solid bulk amounted to 1.231 mln tons (+17.4%). This figure includes the volume of handled grain and grain products (734.7 thousand tons (+31.2% year-on-year)).
The volume of handled general cargoes totalled 891.7 thousand tons (-10.6%), timber – 661.5 thousand tons (-58%), ferrous metals – 439.9 thousand tons (-6.6%).
The volume of liquid bulk amounted to 523 thousand tons (-21.7%), oil products – to 360.8 thousand tons (-31.8%), crude oil – to 128.9 thousand tons (+1.5%).
Liepajas osta LM company was a leader – 815.7 thousand tons (+1.4%), TransWide Service takes second place – 380.5 thousand tons (+21.2%) and DG Terminals is the third – 240.6 thousand tons (-3.7%).
