In January-August 2007, throughput of the port of Iljichevsk grew by 5.3%, year-on-year, to 10.4 million tonnes, Ukraine’s Transport and Communications Ministry reports according to RBC-Ukraine. The port exceeded the planby 6.7%.
Handling of general cargo grew 7%, year-on-year (+12% against plan) to to 5.7 million tonnes. The highest growth was demonstrated in the sector of container transportation. It grew by 53%, year-on-year, to almost 307,000 TEU.
