No change in relative standings of world's top three ports

Relative standings of the world's top three container ports remained the same with Singapore in the lead followed by Shanghai and then Hong Kong as the August monthly box scores came in.
Still leading the pack was PSA Singapore Terminals that handled 17.8 million TEU in the first eight months of 2007, up 13.7 per cent from 15.6 million TEU in the corresponding period in 2006.
Containers moving through Shanghai during the same period totalled 17.1 million TEU, up 22.4 per cent. Hong Kong's throughput was 15.72 million TEU to August, an increase of 2.3 per cent.
