Loading of East-Siberian railway totals 49 million tonnes in Jan-Aug 07

In January-August 2007, loading of East-Siberian railway totaled 49 million tonnes, the railway’s PR department reports. The main types of cargo transported by East-Siberian railway are iron ore, coal, timber and construction cargo. In the reported period, East-Siberian railway loaded over 9.2 million tonnes of forest industry goods (+9.3%, year-on-year), loading of iron ore grew by 1% to 7.2 million tonnes. In the 8-month period the railway loaded 13.5 of oil cargo, over 10 million tonnes of coal, over 1.7 million tonnes of construction cargo, 1.7 million tonnes of industrial raw materials (+42.4%), over 799,000 tonnes of chemicals (+10%).
