In January-August, 2007, the railway transportation between Belarus and Kaliningrad region amounted to 11.5 million tonnes accounting for 18% of all international transportation of Belarusian Railways (BZD). According to RZD-Partner, the figures were announced at the meeting between Vladimir Laptinsky, First Deputy Chief of the Belarusian Railways, and Ivan Besedin, Head of Kaliningrad Railways, held within the framework of BZD delegation visit to Kaliningrad September 12-14. Import from Kaliningrad region and its ports to Belarus made 163% against the volumes of January-August 2006.
