Frigate Shtandart banned from operation

North-West department of RosTransNadzor (Federal Service for Transport Supervision) bans operation of sail-training frigate "Shtandart", PortNews IAA learnt from Dmitri Atlashkin, head of the department. The frigate returned to St. Petersburg September 14 from overseas voyage started July 4, 2007. According to Atlashkin, the Captain violated frontier regime of RF having presented the vessel’s certificate withdrawn May 29. "Shtandart" only had the documents of Russian River Register enabling it to sail within 10-mile sea zone (up to Vyborg). Besides, the frigate has not undergone technical inspection of 2007 obligatory for vessels carrying people. According to Atlashkin, all the materials are to be sent to North-West transport prosecutor’s office.
