Chief of Kaliningrad Sea Port Customs check point Mikhail Kazantsev is in serious condition after an attempt on his life was made last night, Itar-Tass reports.
An unknown assaulter stabbed him in the back several times last night when Kazantsev brought his car to parking grounds, spokeswoman for the regional Customs Department Liliya Tanyuk told Tass.
Kazantsev, who received several stabbed wounds, is in grave condition. A criminal case has been opened. One of the versions studied by the investigation is that the crime might be linked with Kazantsev’s professional activities.
Mikhail Kazantsev was appointed Chief of the Kaliningrad Sea Port Customs in 2007.
