Terminal-and-logistics complex Eurosib-Shushary to be put into operation in late 07 – early 08

Eurosib GC plans to put its terminal-and-logistics complex Eurosib-Shushary into operation in late 2007 – early 2008, PortNews IAA learnt at a presentation from Aleksandr Gorodetski, managing director of the company’s subsidiary Eurosib-Terminal CJSC. Investments into the project will total $45–50 million. Thepay-back period is to make 12 years. Total area of the complex is 16 hectares including 4 hectares of a container ground with a capacity of 2,000 ТEU. According to Gorodetski, the second phase of the logistics complexes development program will start after 2010-2011. It is planned to open terminals in Samara, Rostov, Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk. The first phase of the project will require $200 million. Within the framework of this phase, besides operating terminals Eurosib-Predportovy and Eurosib-Shushary it is planned to open terminal in Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg and Zabaikalsk located at Chinese border. Mikhail Sverdlov, deputy Director General of Eurosib CJSC said the third phase implies expansion to the countries within and outside CIS.

Eurosib group operates construction of logistics terminal within the framework of a project for development of a terminal network in the largest cargo centers of Russia – in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Urals and Siberia. The group’s first terminal, Eurosib-Predportovy, was put into operation in January 2006. In early 2008 it is planned to open a terminal-and-logistics complex in Koltsobo (close to Novosibirsk). According to the company’s forecast, by 2012 Eurosib’s network will comprise over 10 centers. Eurosib CJSC operates the park of 10,500 wagons and 6,600 TEU. In 2006, turnover of Eurosib’s transport companies totaled $469.400 million.
