Russia's grain harvest has amounted to around 77 million tonnes so far this year, or 11.6% greater than at the same time last year, acting Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev said at a news conference Friday, ITAR-TASS reported.
Gordeyev was speaking during a working trip to the constituent republic of Bashkortostan.
More than 80% of the planted area has been harvested so far, Gordeyev said.
He said this year's grain harvest would outstrip last year's, when production rose 0.3% on the year to 78.448 million tonnes.
