On September 24, 2007 Vyborg Shipyard delivered and dispatched the hull of the ROV Survey Vessel EDDA FLORA, design ST-254 CD of the Norwegian engineering company «Skipsteknisk AS» to the Norwegian company «Karmsund Maritime Services AS», press center of Vyborg Shipyard reports. Main particulars of the Vessel: length overall — 95.00 m; beam — 20.00 m; depth to main deck — 9.80 m; deadweight — 4,800 t..
Because of the limited size of the yard launching facility (width of vessels to be launched through the available floating out chamber can be up to 18m), the vessel was erected on board of a semi-submersible barge and put afloat by submerging of the barge in offshore waters. Successful implementation of this new technology has opened up for Vyborg Shipyard new opportunities on building big-size vessels.
