Russia's newly established State Fishing Committee to manage use of water biological resources

“Functions of Ministry of Agriculture related to use of water biological resources are delegated to newly established State Fishing Committee,” the decree of RF President Vladimir Putin reads according to RIA Novosti. "Federal Fishing Agency should be converted into RF State Fishing Committee with acceptance of the Ministry of Agriculture functions related to fishing, production activities at fishing vessels, research, preservation, reproduction and use of water biological resources, as well as the functions of the Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary supervision in the sphere of control and supervision of water biological resources and their life environment," the document reads. According to the Decree the State Fishing Committee is to be managed by the RF Government.
