Ports of Primorsk territory approach capacity limits – Sergei Ivanov
The ports of Primorsk territory approach their capacity limits, First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov told at the Maritime Collegium’s session in Nakhodka, PrimaMedia reports. According to Ivanov, specific share of liquid bulk cargo grew in the ports of Primorsk territory while the share of packaged goods decreased. The development of the Far Eastern ports will require RUR 74 billion.
40% of investments into the Far Eastern region of Russia should be federal, Ivanov said. He also said it is important to pay more attention to development of coastal trade cargo and to recover sea passenger lines to Sakhlina and Kamchatka. As for Vladivostok, Ivanov underlined the necessity of the port modernization through deepening of its harbor territory and widening of the roads approaching the port.
