Germany's Europipe and the Vyksa Steel Works, a United Metallurgical Company's (OMK) subsidiary, have won an international tender to supply high quality steel pipe for the first offshore stretch of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, the press office of the project manager Nord Stream AG reported according to RBC. The companies were chosen among tender bids from Germany, Japan and Russia. Contracts are expected to be signed in October 2007. Under the contract terms, about 25 percent of supplies will be delivered by the Russian pipe producer, with Europipe supplying the rest.
