Estinian AS Nord Gas plans to build a 800,000-m3 terminal for transshipment of liquefied gas in Muuga (Tallina Sadam) or Sillamae, RZD-Partner learnt from Evgenu Sergeev, representative of AS Nord Gas.
According to Mr. Sergeev, an environmental analysis is to be carried out in each of the ports. The port’s characteristics have slight difference and investments are to be the same. The project is to cost €70 - €80 million. The terminal’s design capacity is 100,000 cubic meters. It will be able of handling up to 800,000 cubic meters of liquefied gas per year.
Gas is to be delivered by railway from Russia and Kazakhstan, and by sea from Algeria and the Middle East. Then it will be transported to Poland, Finland, Sweden and France as well as to local markets in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The construction may start in November of the current year and to be completed in December 2010.
