STX Offshore & Shipbuilding inked a deal to build up to six LPG carriers for Chile-based Ultragas, Seatrade Asia online reports. The South Korean shipbuilder will construct two 22,000 cbm vessels for Ultragas. The vessels are planned for delivery by the second quarter of 2014. The contract also includes options to build an additional four more units.
The price for the newbuildings is estimated at $42-43m each.
