Cargo turnover of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company down 14% in 10M06

Cargo turnover of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC OJSC) fell by 14% year-on-year January-October 2006 amounting to 233 332 TEU. According to the company’s press release, in October VSC handled 28 658 TEU (+5 % against year-on-year result). In January-October 2006 transit transshipment of containers fell from 87 905 TEU to 9 439 TEU (- 89% year-on-year). October transit of containers totaled 668 TEU against 8 887 TEU in October 2005 года (- 92%). Volume of export containers handled by VSC in 10 months of 2006 grew 31% year-on-year – from 64 449 TEU to 84 457 TEU. In October 2006, transshipment of export containers totaled 10 148 TEU against 6 089 TEU in October 2005 (+67%).  Handling of import grew by 20% – from 106 558 TEU in January-October 2005 to 127 364 TEU in January-October 2006. Volume of import containers grew in October by 50 % – to 16 289 TEU against 10 856 TEU in October 2005. Results of the reported period are compared to similar period of 2005, when transshipment of containers was carried out at Vostochny port by Vostochny International Container Service CJSC and Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC.

 

Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC specializes on transshipment of container cargo. It was founded in 2004.  The company provides a complete rage of stevedoring and warehousing services, including storage of refrigerator containers, container repair and security.  Vostochny International Container Service CJSC was founded in 1995, before 2006 it specialized on stevedoring services.
