An intergovernmental agreement on Greece joining the South Stream gas pipeline project is expected to be signed in May 2008, Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Andrei Dementyev told RBC today. He noted that nearly all the details of the document had already been agreed upon.
Earlier, Greece's Deputy Foreign Minister Petros Doukas noted that Greece was ready to participate in the construction of the pipeline, as well as to prolong the existing gas supply contract with Gazprom, which expires in 2016.
