The largest in Russia dry dock in the port Vostochny near Nakhodka was opened in June of 2004. The area of one of the world-largest dry docks is almost 33 hectares. It was meant for construction of large-scale concrete foundations for platforms "Lunskaya-A" and "Piltun-Astokhskaya-B" at Sakhalin, which were projected taking into account high seismic danger and hard ice conditions of Sakhalin coast. The volume of means, invested in construction, amounted to 70mln USD. After the construction of concrete platforms had been finished, the dock was flooded.
