In January-May 2008, Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port handled 378,000 tonnes of different cargo, mainly containerized cargo, automobile equipment, scrap metal, fish products, cement in big bags, the company reports.
The port decreased transshipment of round tmber (-90%), sawn timber (-50%), scrap metal (-53%), However the port managed to preserve positive dynamics due to higher transshipment of fish products (+45%), containerized cargo (+32%), automobile equipment (+80%).
The port focuses it activities on new types of cargo depending on the market situation. In 2007 the port started transshipment of import cement in big bags. As of today, Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port is the leader among Far Eastern port in term of transshipment of this type of cargo (25,000 tonnes of cement per month).
