After the adjustment, OOCL will charge US$904 for every dry cargo TEU and $1,130 for every FEU as bunker surcharge. For every 40-foot high cube, bunker surcharge will be $1,271 and every 45-foot high will be $1,431. For every cubic metre of less-than-container-load (LCL) cargo, bunker surcharge will be $25.
Inland Fuel Surcharge will also be adjusted. Since July 1, the fuel surcharge for cargo to US west or east coast cities will be $125 per container while surcharge for those to other US inland cities will be $433 per container.
On August 1, the carrier will impose a further raise on bunker surcharge and inland fuel surcharge level for such cargo.
Starting from August, bunker surcharge will rise to $1,200 for every TEU and $1,500 for every FEU. Every 40-foot high cube will cost $1,690 and every 45-foot high cube $1,900. LCL cargo will rise to $40 for every cubic metre.
Inland fuel surcharge will increase to $150 per container for cargo to US west or east coast cities and $600 for those to other US inland cities.
OOCL made adjustment to Heavy Container Surcharge for cargo from Shanghai to Europe earlier in mid-May. For every TEU of such cargo with a weight equal to or larger than 18 tonnes, Heavy Container Surcharge will be $200.
