First batches of consumer goods for Chukotka Autonomous Area are being loaded in Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) within the framework of Northern delivery in navigation 2008.
According to press center of VMTP OJSC, the Leader m/v will leave Vladivostok for Khatyrka port of Chukotka on June 5. The vessel will carry containers, different general and inert cargo. The first batch of consumer goods and construction materials will make some 3,000 tonnes.
Then the Captain Sergeyevsky m/v will leave Vladivostok for Egvekinot and Provideniye ports of Chukotka. The vessel will operate according to a schedule of a regular service arranged by FESCO Lines Vladivostok. At first, the Captain Sergeyevsky m/v will deliver over 120 containers. The next vessel, the Markovo m/v will leave the port on June 6 with over 5,000 tonnes of cargo.
Commercial Port of Vladivostok has traditionally been a base point for socially significant delivery of cargoes to Chukotka and Arctic region. This year VMTP’s Northern delivery is to exceed the volumes of the previous year. The navigation in the ports of Chukotka and Eastern Arctic is predicted to last mid November-early December of 2008.
Vladivostok Commercial Seaport OJSC is one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. The port operates 17 berths including container, passenger, motor car specialized berths.
