In January-May, commercial seaport of Iljichevsk (Ukraine) handled 7.892 million tonnes of cargo (+21.4%, year-on-year), the port informs.
In the reported period transshipment of general cargo amounted to 4.819 million tonnes (+40.7%, year-on-year) accounting for 61% of the port’s total throughput and demonstrating stable growth. Transshipment of ro-ro cargo almost tripled to 92,856 units; containers - grew by 60%, year-on-year, to 272,500 TEU; rolled metal – by 45%, cast iron – by 107%.
Iljichevsk Commercial Seaport (Ukraine, Odessa region) has been operating from 1958. The port’s territory is 346 hectares, berth length is 5.4 km. Area of covered storage space is 54.2 thou m2, open storage space – 743.94 thou m2. The port accepts vessels with up to 13 m of draft. No limits as regards length of the vessels. Average depth near the port is 13.5 m, which enable it to serve the vessels of almost any deadweight.
