OOCL adds PPS, ups BAF, CAF, LSF, CBR for trades to the West and SE Asia

OOCL will implement Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) for exports from mainland China (excludes South China) to the Mediterranean and Black Sea region and adjust various surcharges for exports to Europe, Mediterranean and Southeast Asia starting from early June this year.
Announcements of OOCL said PSS for exports from mainland China (excludes south China) to the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea will be fixed at US$158 per TEU during the period from June 8 to October 17. PSS for exports from mainland China (excludes South China) to the Western Mediterranean will be also $158 per TEU but the effective dates for the surcharge will be from June 15 to October 17.
While starting from July 1, BAF of exports from mainland China (excludes South China) to Europe and the Mediterranean will be adjusted to $610 per TEU; CAF for the trade will be +17.4 per cent of the freight rate, and the Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge (LSF) to Europe will be $11 per TEU.
Also from July 1, BAF of exports from mainland China (excludes South China) to Southeast Asia will be increased to $140 per TEU, while Critical Bunker Recovery (CBR) of the trade will be $95 per TEU.
OOCL also reminded its customers that starting from October 15, 2008, the customs authority of the US requires containers imported to the US to use High Security Seals.
