“There is a problem of motor transport approaches to the port. It is important to deliver cargoes to the port in time and transport them from port to other regions without losses”, Vice Governor of Leningrad region Aleksandr Drozdenko said during opening of multifunctional transshipment complex “Yug-2”, RZD -Partner reports.
He reported that railway approaches to the port are in top condition (OAO RZD built big railway station there and solved problem of cargo railway transportation), but there is urgent problem of cargo delivery by motor road.
Two days ago the decision on reconstruction of Ust-Luga – Novgorod – Moscow was made at the Coordinate Council which took place in Ust-Luga port.
“Large private and federal means will be invested into this project till 2012”, A.Drozdenko said.
He added that Tallin road should be reconstructed till 2009.
