The cost of the project of construction of a new shipyard in Azerbaijan may take less than earlier predicted $400 mln, said deputy chief executive of the Azerbaijan Investment Company Riad Qasimov.
He said as the shipyard is planned to be constructed at the free space of the Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory of Heydar Aliyev this will influence the total cost of the project.
Qasimov also announced that an agreement on the said shipyard is expected to be signed in autumn of this year.
It should be reminded that a memorandum of construction of a shipyard in Azerbaijan was signed between SOCAR and Korean STX on May 19 of this year. AIC share in the project makes 10%, SOCAR's 65% and STX 25%.
