The Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline project operator will start updating the feasibility study in the near future, Gazprom Neft's manager for the project Nikolai Seryogin told journalists today according to RBC. The participants of the project have decided to amend the old feasibility study, which was prepared by Germany's ILF as early as 2001, rather than to launch a new one, according to Seryogin. He pointed out that the study must be updated, as prices for pipes and metal products had changed since 2001, and some amendments in the pipeline route were also needed. He expressed confidence that the study would be completed by late 2008 - early 2009.
