Fire at Nakhodka shipyard localized
A fire that broke out at a shipyard in Nakhodka was localized; the fire spread threat was eliminated.
The fire does not pose a threat for people, life-supporting facilities, industrial buildings of the shipyard and Nakhodka, the press service of the main emergencies department in the Primorsky Territory told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
The fire has broken out at about 3 p.m. local time on Thursday (8 a.m. Moscow time) at a shop for the production of acetylene (a highly inflammable gas applied in gas welding and metal cutting). There were about 70 cylinders with this dangerous toxic agent in the shop. Rescuers, firemen, an ambulance and the police arrived at the shop already half an hour later. An emergency headquarters was urgently deployed.
Three people were injured in the fire and were hospitalized with various burns.
