Container throughput of First Container Terminal (SPb) down 17.7% to 659,066 TEU in Jan-Sep 09
In January-September, 2009, First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg) handled 659,066 TEU (-17.7%, year-on-year), reports press center of National Container Company (operates FCT). In September, FCT container throughput totaled 83,768 TEU (+3.5% against August 2009).
According to the statement, major indicators of FCT performance gradually reach the level of 2008. In September, loading of export cargo amounted to 40,152 TEU, unloading of import cargo – to 43,616 TEU. Turnover of refrigerated containers totaled 10,501 TEU.
All in all, the terminal handled 68 vessels in September (+3 vessels against August) with average turnover of 1,232 TEU per vessel.
FCT accounts for some 70% of the entire container flow of the Big Port of St. Petersburg.
