RUR 3.6 billion port complex to be constructed by 2014 in the Azov Sea
Maritime Transhipping Complex “Priazovie” managing company plans to construct a port complex in the Azov Sea not far from Primorsko-Akhtarskaya (Krasnodarski krai) by 2014, said Mikhail Skomarov, company’s General Director, informed Interfax. As per Mikhail Skomarov, total investment into the project amounted to RUR 3.6 billion. The company plans to use its own and borrowed assets.
We are open to cooperate with cargo owners that have an intention to acquire title to one or several maritime terminals, pointed out Skomarov.
The complex is assumed to consist of 10 terminals. A new port shall be able to handle 5.6 million tons of different cargoes including grain crops, general cargo, construction materials and lumber annually.
Besides there is a possibility of a shipyard construction for repair and building of small fishing vessels and geological boats in the territory of the complex.
He also mentioned, the company plans to commence construction of the port complex second half of 2010.
The complex is planned to be put into commission stagewise. The first stage can be put into commission 18 months after the construction commencement, said Skomarov.
