Prime Shipping delivers 400,000 t of Samara Refinery's products to off-harbor complex in Kerch strait in Apr-Sep 09
In April-September 2009, shipping company Prime Shipping (Samara) delivered 400,000 t of oil products (mainly heavy fuel oil) from Samara refinery (owned by TNK-ВР) to the off-harbor complex located by the Ukrainian side of the Kerch strait, PortNews IAA learnt from Igor Ganin, the shipping company’s Director General.
According to the source, 120,000 tonnes of oil products will be additionally transported by the end of navigation 2009, which is scheduled for November. So, the forecast for transportation of dark oil products by the tanker fleet of Prime Shipping is 520,000 tonnes for 2009 (comparable to that of 2008).
This year, Prime Shipping operates 9 vessels (4 sea-and-river going tankers and 5 tug-and-tow vessels).
Saratov Refinery is one of the oldest oil refineries in Russia. It was founded on the 27th of April, 1934. In 2008, it refined 6.5 million tonnes of oil. The Refinery’s major shareholders are TNK -ВР Holding – 83.78%, Prosperity Rassvet – 5.11%.
