Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port down 2.3 times to 1.579 mln t in Jan-Sep 09
In January-September, 2009, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP OJSC) handled 1.578.7 million tonnes (down 2.3 times), the stevedoring company states. In September, KSCP handled 155,400 tonnes of cargo (down 2 times, year-on-year).
In January-September, 2009, import amounted to 425,900 tonnes (down 2.4 times), export – to 967,000 tonnes (down 2.3 times). In the 9-month period transshipment of oil products increased by almost 50% to 276,500 tonnes while turnover of ferrous metal fell 2.2 times to 555,300 tonnes.
In January-September 2009, the port’s container throughput totaled 11,506 TEU (almost 3.7 times down against January-September 2008).
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the territory of region, close in the port. Major shareholders of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port are Dork LLC (49%) and Gas-Oil CJSC (12%). In 2008, the company handled 4.763 million tonnes of cargo.
