Oil products delivery volumes ex Volgo-Balt to Saint-Petersburg port up 10% May-Sep, 2009
Within first nine months of summer navigation 2009 (May-September inclusive) about 4,000,000 tons of oil products were delivered by river fleet from Volgo-Balt system towards the Baltics (taking into consideration crossing the Seaport of Saint-Petersburg boarder along the Neva) which is 10% more as compared to the corresponding period results of 2008, PortNews IAA learnt from Vladimir Nikolaev, Head of GBU Volgo-Balt.
Most part of this volume was exported through marine terminals of the Ports of Saint-Petersburg and Vysotsk current year. As of October 1, 2009 In-Transit CJSC off-harbour transhipment (OTC) complex handled about 2,800,000 tons of fuel oil and vacuum gas oil delivered by the river (taking into consideration the volumes collected in the reservoirs of three storage-tankers); OTC Vysotsk LUKOIL-II transhipped over 460,000 tons of fuel oil; Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC operated about 440,000 tons of fuel oil. The remaining volume (mainly dark oil products) was not exported from the country and came into the bunker market of the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg, as per PortNews IAA data
In particular, as PortNews IAA learnt from Baltic Fuel Company the volume of oil products accepted from river tankers amounted to 70,000 tons in May-September, 2009. Oil products river delivery volumes in LUKOIL-Bunker company amounted to about 50,000 tons, within the reporting period. Neftekhim Company informed on about 30,000 tons of oil products operated. Comrade bunker company accepted approximately 15,000 tons of oil products from the river.
