Transneft to design an oil plant in the Ust-Luga port (Leningrad region)
AK Transneft OJSC commenced design works in the Ust-Luga Seaport of (Leningrad region), related to construction of objects for operating, storage and transhipment of oil, Mikhail Kushnarev, Vice-President of Transneft said in the interview with “Pipeline Oil Transportation” magazine.
He reminded, group of companies AK Transneft OJSC purchased 100% share of charter capital of Ust-Luzhskii bunkering complex LLC (ULBC LLC) on August 14, 2009
As a result of the mentioned asset procurement the group of companies got the right to use the land of 474 179 м2 area, located in the territory of the commercial seaport Ust-Luga, under a subtenancy contract dated October 25, 2007 valid through 49 years to allocate objects for operating, storage and transhipment of oil. Design works are started to the date, mentioned Mikhail Kushnarev.
The Vice-President added, main objects of oil plant will be constructed in the aforementioned territory. Maritime terminals building is not provided for by the price break-down. It is planned to use already existing in the Ust-Luga port maritime terminal walls for oil shipping.
It is necessary to remind that Transneft started construction of the Baltic pipeline system-2 (BTS-2) first half of June, 2009. The oil pipeline stretched for 1,170 km will be routed from Unecha (Braynsk region) to Ust-Luga in Leningrad region with a branch linked to Kirishi oil refinery. The oil refinery capacity will amount to 30 million tons at the first construction stage and will be increased up to 50 million tons at the second stage.
