Working design elaboration of a new shipyard construction in Primorsk to be completed August, 2010
A detailed working design and state expertise passing of a new shipyard construction in Primorsk (Leningrad region) is planned to be completed in August, 2010. Working documentation preparation will be carried out simultaneously, Georgii Poryadin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vyborg Shipyard OJSC (that is a project investor), informed journalists. Working design elaboration will be commenced from November, 2009. Shipyard construction is planned to be completed in 2010, the shipyard will start working at its full capacity by 2014.
As per Georgii Poryadin, Vyborg Shipyard takes out a RUR22 billion loan in Vnesheconombank to bring the project into life. Bank administration has already approved of the first RUR70 million loan tranche. The second loan tranche involvement is expected after a detailed working design elaboration and its passing of the expertise.
As per the schedule, the shipyard will be able to take shipbuilding orders from the Ministry of Transport, Gasprom, Sovcomflot and other customers beginning 2012.
It is necessary to remind, a new shipyard construction in Primorsk is designed for building of 200,000 tons dwt gas-carriers, over 100,000 tons dwt ice-breaking tankers and drilling plates. The project is evaluated at RUR 58 billion including infrastructure.
