Volkswagen to deliver cars to Eastern Europe via St-Petersburg, 2010
German Volkswagen group considers the automobile terminal of Third Stevedoring company (a part of Seaport of Saint-Petersburg group of companies) to be a new partner for operative and cheaper and higher quality delivery of cars – as compared to the Finnish operators – to the Eastern Europe, informed Administration for foreign and local communications of Seaport of Saint-Petersburg OJSC.
It is informed that in September, 2009 in the course of test transhipment of 100 cars Volkswagen group experts carried out an audit of the automobile terminal of Third Stevedoring company in terms of “cars handling”, “infrastructure”, “personnel qualification”, “safety”. The terminal was given “A” rating as a result of the audit. Volkswagen is planning cooperation with the automobile terminal of Third Stevedoring company in 2010, they summed up in Seaport of Saint-Petersburg OJSC.
Seaport of Saint-Petersburg group of companies incorporates First Stevedoring Company, Second Stevedoring Company, Third Stevedoring Company, Universal Handling Facility in Ust-Luga, and service utilities.
As per the “Standards of quality of storage and shipping new cars” approved by Volkswagen group “A” rating is given to the operator that gained 92 - 100 points in the service quality with the next audit to be held in 24 months. “B” rating (82 – 91 points) means next audit to be appointed in 12 months, “C” (under 82 point) – once half-a-year. A minimum figure to pass the audit amounts to 82 points.
