Todd Shipyards gets $114M ferry contract
Todd Shipyards Corp. said Wednesday it was awarded a $114 million contract from the Washington State Department of Transportation to build two 64-car ferries with an option for a third.
The Seattle shipbuilding and repair company was the sole bidder on the project. The state required that the ferry construction take place in Washington, which limited the pool of bidders.
Todd Shipyards said it has the option to build a third ferry for $50.8 million. The option must be exercised no later than May 31, 2011.
