Belokamenka storage tanker launch feasible from 2014 – Andrei Shapovaliants
Off-harbour transhipment complex for oil cargoes Belokamenka (storage tanker at Murmansk port anchorage) can be put into operation in 2014 with cargo flow transfer onto on-shore crude oil loading terminal, constructed under the project of Murmansk transportation junction development implementation (MTU, western coast of Kola Bay), PortNews IAA learnt from Andrei Shapovaliants, Director of UK Murmansk Transportation Junction OJSC, in the course I Murmansk International Economic Forum.
As per his estimation, sufficient infrastructure aimed at receiving of oil cargo volumes transhipped by Belokamenka to the date will be developed by that moment. He also reminded, Belokamenka storage tanker will soon seize to comply with the present-day requirements of ecological safety (the tanker is single-hull). At the same time, Shapovaliants highlighted, the on-shore terminal to be constructed in Sintez OJSC territory under MTU project will probably not be able to work at its designed capacity of 35 million tons by 2015 due to lack of such volumes of oil.
It is necessary to remind, Belokamenka (owned by Rosneft OJSC) complex is currently receiving oil cargoes from tanker-shuttles operating at Murmansk-Varandey and Murmansk-Arkhangelsk route.
