OOCL hikes intra-Asia rates

Orient Overseas Container Line is launching two rounds of rate increases for intra-Asia cargo. The first applies to dry cargo from Hong Kong, Macau and South China bound for Japan starting Oct. 26. The second round will apply to dry cargo bound for all other Asian countries, effective Nov. 1.
Starting Oct. 26, rates for dry cargo bound for Japan will increase $30 per 20-foot equivalent unit, $50 per 40-foot equivalent unit and $50 per 40-foot high cube container. As of Nov. 1, rates for dry cargo to all other Asian countries will increase $50 per TEU, $100 per FEU and $100 per high cube.
