Cargo turnover of the Russian inland water transport down 19.3%, Jan-Sep 2009

Cargo turnover of the Russian inland water transport decreased by 19.3% (42.6% billion tons) in January-September, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of previous year. At the same time maritime transport turnover increased by 18.6% (74 billion t-km) in January-September, 2009 against the corresponding period of 2008. Federal State Statistics Service of Russia provided the information. The overall cargo turnover in RF reduced by 14% (3 trillion 229.2 billion t-km) in the reporting period.
