Moscow authorities are considering the possibility of parking lots construction under the Moskva river to solve the problem of car parking areas in the city. RIA Novosti informed with reference to Votalii Kryuchkov, Head of Department of civil engineering and underground area development.
As per Kryuchkov, parking construction under water objects is one of the most effective ways of city areas enlargement for Moscovites and tourists to park their cars.
Kryuchkov highlighted that NIiPI of Moscow Master Plan has already elaborated the design of 24 parking lots allocation under the Moskva river.
‘Here we will have to deal with federal authorities as water resources are not owned by the city. That is why we have already selected a working group,’ he mentioned.
The official also added, the underwater parking lots construction costs don’t much exceed those spent for underground development, as per the preliminary estimations.
