VSZD cargo volumes exceed 48.6 mln tons within 9 months, 2009
East-Siberian Railways (VSZD, branch of RZD OJSC) handled over 48.6 million tons of cargoes within 9 months, 2009. As per the main railways press-service information, main part of the cargo volumes operated by East-Siberian Railways fell onto oil and timber cargoes as well as industrial materials and cement.
Thus, over 246 thousand tons of timber cargo, over 170 thousand tons of oil, 63.4 thousand tons of cement, about 37.6 thousand tons of industrial materials was shipped in addition to the plan within 9 months, 2009.
Cement volumes dispatch showed the greatest increase against the planned volume (+19.4%). The railway exceeded the plan by 12% in the volumes of chemicals loaded and by 11.6% - of paper.
VSZD loaded over 5.8 million tons of cargo. As per the plans, the railway increased the planned volumes of the cargo shipped by 65 million tons, informed PR service of VSZD.
